I found a stunned, close-to-dead bird in the alley, and brought it inside. We stuck its beak in some water and then wrapped it in a tea towel to keep warm while we tried to identify it -- best guess: yellow warbler. Then we left it on the deck while we went out. When we came back, it was gone!

Oh man, that is amazing. Best possible outcome for dying bird. Poor critter, but it served a purpose.
